I first conceived Corporate Mofo as a bile-filled twentysomething living in New York City who simultaneously needed to vent his spleen and come up with something to distinguish himself from the mass of other clever, over-educated would-be hipsters. And it worked: It got me free CDs. It got me backstage to meet bands. I met a lot of cool people, and did a lot of cool things. I had a blog before the word "blog" even existed. Indirectly, it got me a Nerve column and a bunch of other bylines in places like the New York Press (back when the Press was cool).
In the decade since I started this site, my life has changed an awful lot: I started my Ph.D, became a college professor, lived in Paris, left New York for a more contemplative (but no less hip) life in the Berkshires, and started publishing on and teaching fencing. It is time to put childish things aside: Like any project, CorporateMofo had a definite lifespan, and the fact that haven't updated this thing in a over a year is a testament that it is (pardon the pun) a dead letter.
So, thanks to the Farkers, hipsters, punks, and my fellow pseudo-intellectual poseurs: It's been a great ride.
